106: You’re a Wizard Stephen

Doctor Strange.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has given us many types of heroes. There are men in super suits, a boy bitten by a radioactive spider, a man irradiated by gamma rays, a being brought to life by an infinity stone, a norse god, a former Soviet super spy and a guy that’s really good with a bow, plus a girl that’s been made, in-human. Yet in all of this there has been something missing, something that’s a little esoteric and outside reality and this year Marvel fills that void with it’s newest hero.

In this episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing is joined by fellow sorcerers Aaron Goins and Alice Baker to talk about Doctor Strange. We discuss if it’s something new, themes, missing something, the cast, villains, CGI, the score, costumes and our ratings.

Comic fans have been having the argument for over 70 years about who would win in a fight between Superman and Batman. S15: Literary Filoni

Star Wars: Before the Awakening.

The Force Awakens left fans with many questions as they walked out of the theater. How did the galaxy end up like this? Who are these different factions? Why is there a Republic and a Resistance? These questions and so many more have been swirling around fandom ever since December 17th, 2015 and in the era of “it’s all connected” the ancillary materials have become even more important.

In this supplemental episode of The 602 Club host Matthew Rushing and newly awakened John Mills talk about Greg Rucka’s Before the Awakening. We discuss if the book should have come out before the movie, if it would have effected our movie viewing, Finn, Rey, Poe and our ratings.
